Summary:

CE(LEGAL) requires the Board of Trustees set the tax rate annually and also requires the Board to provide full disclosure of the actual tax cost to operate the district. Disclosure of these items will come in the form of a public meeting where taxpayers are allowed to provide input on the matter. It is the responsibility of the Board of Trustees to set the time and date of this public meeting.

This meeting provides the legal basis in which to set the local tax rate for local taxpayer property taxes.

Recommendation:

The district recommends a motion to set the public meeting to discuss the budget and the proposed tax rate for 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 24, 2021.
