Summary: Through the American Rescue Plan, $122 billion dollars have been designated within the Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER) Funds for school districts across America.

Texas will receive over $12 billion.

In total, Crowley ISD will receive a total of approximately $25 million. 2/3 of those funds are released now which is approximately $16.7 million, and the remaining funds of $8.3 million will be released at later time through TEA.

Purpose of Grant: The purpose of this grant is to help address learning loss from the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on students. It will also help to safely reopen schools. Some of the allowable items with this grant are:

• Extended Learning
• Summer Learning
• Professional Development
• English Language Learner Support
• Social and Emotional Support
• Technology
Budgetary Impact: $16.7 million through the ARP ESSER III Grant Awarded to Crowley ISD.
Recommendation: Recommend acceptance of the ESSER III grant funds as presented.
