Summary:
|
Our current inventory of laptop computers is seven plus years old. Most industries replace computers around three to five years. We looked several different types of computers in the evaluation process. We handed out devices to Principals, Assistant Principals and select people at Admin. The overwhelming favorite was the Lenovo 13W. It can be used as a laptop or tablet. It will allow our teachers to move around the learning space while still being connected. If approved, we plan to start the roll out in late fall and early winter.

Budgetary Impact:

Crowley put an RFP out on Ionwave for the teacher laptops. The RFP was for a 2 year lease. The winning bid came in at $1,603,006. The lease will be two payments of $859,203.20. This is a 199 expense replacing a previous lease for Chromebooks that has expired.
