Summary:
|
An election will be held this coming December to determine who will serve on the Board of Directors for the Central Appraisal District of Johnson County for the years 2025 and 2026. The board consists of nine members. Five nominated and voted by the taxing units, three members elected by popular vote, and the elected Tax Assessor / Collector. In accordance with Section 6.03(d) of the Texas Property Tax Code, CAD has calculated the number of votes to which each taxing unit within the district is entitled. As indicated on the calculation enclosed, CISD is entitled to 8 votes. Please submit the name(s) of any nominee(s) (up to five), by resolution by your governing body to CAD on or before October 15, 2024. Legislation prohibits nominations received after this date from appearing on the ballot. The ballot listing the candidates will be prepared and delivered to CISD before October 30, 2024. The governing body will then determine its vote by resolution and submit it to CAD on or before December 15, 2024. At that time, CAD will count the votes, declare the five candidates who receive the largest cumulative vote totals elected, and submit the results to the governing body and the candidates prior to December 31, 2024. |
