Summary:
|
Athletic program provisions for FFAC(LOCAL) have been recommended by TASB based on the CISD Athletic Program. The recommendations below are additions to the recently revised FFAC (LOCAL). The District shall purchase nonprescription medication that may be used to prevent or treat illness or injury in the District’s athletic pro-gram. Only a licensed athletic trainer or a physician licensed to practice medicine in the state of Texas may administer this medica-tion and may do so only if: 1. The District has prior written consent for medication to be ad-ministered [see Medical Treatment, below]; and 2. The administration of a medication by an athletic trainer is in accordance with a standing order or procedures approved by a physician licensed to practice medicine in the state of Texas.

Budgetary Impact:

Funding is allocated in existing athletic trainer budget. No additional funds are being requested.
