Summary:
|
The RELAY Strategy upholds that if vertically aligned teams experience powerful learning through research backed, practice-based professional development and increase their skill in core practices, adopting key systems and structures alongside a Relay coach, then the use of core practices will increase and student outcomes will improve. To achieve our goals the scope of the work outlined is guided by the following strategic priorities: Depth over Breadth: This Professional Development will specifically focus on the core content of instructional leadership. Targeted Regional Support Coaching: We will prioritize regional coaching support for vertically aligned teams (including 2 principal supervisors, 4 school leaders, and their campus leadership teams) to serve as proof points for the work of instructional leadership. This program also includes strategic work between RELAY and District Leadership: We will select and invest in supervisors and a district RELAY designee as the primary source of development for principals and district wide systems creation. Characteristics of these supervisors will include passion about teaching and learning and their roles as instructional coaches, and the capacity and investment to dedicate time on a monthly basis for instructional coaching.
