Learning Acceleration Support Opportunities (LASO):

• STRONG FOUNDATIONS PLANNING SUPPORTS
Amount Awarded: 250,000
Grant Funds Available: 3/1/2023 thru 4/30/25

Purpose of Grant:
Strong Foundations grant planning Supports for LEAs ready to commit to a planning year in school year 2023-24. This grant receives in-kind supports for pre-implementation planning to prepare for high-fidelity implementation and meet assurances in Spring 2023, as well as content- and product-specific onboarding and ongoing high-quality professional learning (HQPL) for teachers, coaches, and administrators in Summer 2023 and the 2023-24 School Year.


Technology Lending Grant
Amount Awarded: $225,000
Grant Funds Available: 2/21/2023 thru 4/30/2024

Purpose of Grant:
The Technology Lending Grant program provides students equipment necessary to access and use digital instructional materials at school and at home. Chromebooks will be provided through the grant to help middle school students with the math curriculum.

• School Safety Standards Formula Grant:
Amount of Award: 746,827.00
Grant Funds Available: 1/30/23 thru 4/30/2025

Purpose of Grant:
To assist LEAs in meeting the new school safety standards and to include other security related costs like metal detectors, cameras, and monitoring tools such as those allowed under the school safety allotment.


• 2023 Summer Career and Technical Education Grant
Amount of Award: $100,000
Grant Funds Available: Summer 2023

Purpose of Grant:
Career and Technical Education (CTE) and Work-Based Learning (WBL) programs are effective strategies to ensure that students have the opportunity, experience, and credentials to pursue meaningful career and education pathways after high school. Funding for this program is intended to provide support for districts to offer students greater access to CTE courses in TEA approved programs of study and/or paid or unpaid WBL summer opportunities. The CTE Summer grant programs are intended to address existing needs or to close gaps related to offering CTE courses in a TEA approved program of study of WBL opportunities. Needs can be but are not limited to transportation, student scheduling constraints, certified teacher availability, industry needs, etc. The CTE Summer grant program directly aligns with the Texas Education Agency’s strategic plan that focuses on preparing every child for success in college, career, and the military.
