Summary:
|
Texas law requires that a school board approve an operating budget annually. The District is presenting the 2021-2022 budgets for the General Operating Fund, Food Service Fund and the Debt Service Fund. As required by state law, we are presenting the budgets by fund in a functional use breakdown. We will continue to monitor the Legislative actions as well as fluctuations in our tax base values and how they will impact our budgets.

By Board approval, the District is setting the budget for the 2021-2022 school year.

Recommendation:
|
The District recommends approval of the 2021-2022 General Operating, Child Nutrition and Debt Service Budgets as presented. The General Fund budget includes teachers/librarians/nurses receiving at least an $1,800 pay increase by updating their pay schedule and staff receiving a 3% increase to the midpoint of their pay grade. In the Comp plan, each paygrade min, midpoint and max receive 1.5% increase in order to allow current employees to move above the minimum of their pay grade.
