Summary:
|
CE (Legal) requires a board meeting for the purpose of adopting a budget for the succeeding year. Any taxpayer of a district may be present to participate in the meeting. Truth-in-taxation requires the District to post its meeting to adopt the proposed budget and tax rate, together with a summary of the proposed budget, in a local newspaper no later than 10 days or earlier than 30 days before the date of the public meeting.

Budgetary Impact:

The Board at the meeting called for that purpose shall adopt a budget to cover all expenditures. The budget must be adopted before the adoption of the tax rate.
