Summary:
|
District administrators are recommending a 2023-2024 school calendar that maximizes instruction time for students and staff development/long-range planning time for educators. The calendar has been designed with input from teachers, parents and community members serving on the District-Wide Educational Improvement Council (DWEIC), campus principals and District leaders on Team One. Based on feedback received on Draft A and Draft B calendars, the District is recommending the Draft C calendar. Highlights of the proposed Draft C calendar include: -170 instructional days for students -78,585 instructional minutes for elementary and middle school students (state minimum is 75,600) -77,280 instructional minutes for high school students (state minimum is 75,600) -187 contract days for teachers, including 6 long-range planning days A draft of the current 2022-2023 calendar is also attached for reference. |
